Remember that famous phrase from Jerry McGuire: “Show me the money!”

Have you ever felt like your business was all grind, grind, grind… hustle, hustle, hustle… SHOW ME THE MONEY all day every day?

I know I used to feel that way in my direct sales biz. Heck, it took me years as an entrepreneur before I was able to fight the urge to be on the grind all the time.

I felt like I wasn’t allowed to chill and rest because if I did, then I wasn’t “serious” about my success.

How silly is that when you think about it?

You start a network marketing business so you can pave the way to a freedom life and sadly, instead of that, a lot of people get sucked into a slave mentality about their biz.

They feel like if they just work hard enough, they’ll finally get there (wherever that is.)

Usually, though, they don’t ever arrive when they have this mentality.

And even if they do arrive, by the time they get there, their family is ripped apart from neglect and the biz has taken over every aspect of their lives and is acting as an idol over all the important stuff.

After all, the place where your treasure is, is the place you will most want to be, and end up being.

The business becomes the chase instead of the freedom you were first striving for.

The rank is more important now. At one point, you were excited to make $300 extra a month, but now feel deflated because Sally just promoted and you… didn’t.

What if I told you that you don’t have to feel this way?

If you stop chasing the money or the rank, and instead chase the freedom… everything will actually fall into place.

It happened to me. And I know it can happen for you, too.

You might be thinking… “Stop chasing the money? What does that mean? How do I chase freedom when I have all this stuff to do in my business to make the money to get the freedom?”

The thing is: your success will grow as you do.

Your success will start to meet your needs.

If you uplevel your expectations of life and your freedom, and continue to take positive actions from a joyous mindset in your business, your results will grow and your paycheck will follow.

It just has to.

But it doesn’t work when you’re ONLY focusing on the business for the business’ sake.

You must focus on the reason for your freedom. And your marketing efforts will follow.

I know you didn’t start your business because working 24/7 sounded super fun…

But that’s where so many direct sellers end up. They call it “residual income,” but sadly, a lot of the top earners never turn off the hustle. So perpetual income becomes perpetual work.

I want more for you than that.

I want you to get paid every day, every week by doing a system of consistent actions that you know are bringing in $$$ for you like a cycle.

That’s a lot more fun to think about, isn’t it?

Instead of feeling like you’re on a hamster wheel, busy, exhausted, worn out, always following up with customers… you could take some time to commit to certain actions that WILL bring consistent results that grow over time.

I know this works because I did it and do it.

What separates the #InstaHappyRich way of doing things from any other generic Instagram training out there is we start off with a personal business mission and brand, THEN we do the every day marketing stuff from that positive place of enlightened expectation.

You basically BECOME that cool chick you wish existed for YOU to follow. Because if YOU wanna follow her? Then surely others will too!

Nobody else can do you. And Instagram is the perfect place for you to share YOU: your story, your mission and your solutions for a better life through your products and opportunity.

You got into your direct sales business because you had a dream. And I know deep down that dream is still alive in you. 

Otherwise, why would you bother to do any of this?

So, please stop focusing on JUST the money, the numbers, the paycheck.

Start focusing on what lights you up as a person.

Most of the time when direct sales gals come to me feeling stuck like not much is working, it’s because they haven’t identified WHY they are worth following.

Be worth following and you’ll be followed. 😉

Use social media — don’t let it use you.

We ALL want MORE time doing things we love instead of grinding 24/7. #AmIRight?

I mean, we start these businesses for FREEDOM of time and money…

And if we don’t actually have TIME as well as money?

That’s not really living… is it?

Most people need more money and want more time with their children.

And everybody knows deep down that they don’t want to one day wake up 85 years old, with dreams and hopes frittered away.

You’re gonna do this DIFFERENTLY.

I received an influx of messages this week.

And all these messages at their core are stating the same thing:

“I want to be SUCCESSFUL using Instagram for my business. But GEEZ, I don’t have TIME to be on it CONSTANTLY like ‘so and so.'”

For real… so many people have messaged me this one sentiment. And they’ve all told me how much it inspired them that I’m NOT on Instagram 24/7 yet STILL get customers in my current biz like I used to in my direct sales biz.

It’s SO important that you remember the REAL reason you started your business: FREEDOM.

Don’t let social media trick you into giving it your entire life.

Is a business profile right for your Instagram?

So, if you’ve taken any notice at all to the small blue bar popping up on your Instagram account, you’ll see that Instagram is asking you if you’d like to switch to a Business Profile.

Now, some of you may have been like “YES! Got to get me some of that!”

And others including me were like, “Hmm. Yeah, let me see how this goes for other people first.” (Always the cautious one.)

If you’ve already been investigating having a biz profile for yourself, that’s great. I love your proactive nature.

But remember, what you’ve seen on other blogs might not pertain to YOUR business as a direct seller or network marketer.

The way other small businesses run are sometimes completely different to the way network marketers should do things.

So I’m here to help you weigh the pros and cons and make an educated decision on what’s right for your biz.

Ready? Let’s dive in!

BUSINESS PROFILE PROS & CONS

PRO: You’ll have the option for your prospects to tap the CONTACT button and email you, call you or find your location.

Now, as a direct seller, I don’t see any benefit to your location being there because, hello, you don’t want creepers coming to your house, right?

If you have an actual office, totally go for it. This also comes in handy if you want people to be able to tap your location and load it into the Maps app on their phone. The address shows directly below your bio.

PRO: A Business Profile links to your Facebook Biz Page in its workings, so it’ll tell people what kind of business you have.

For instance, mine says I’m a “public figure.” But yours might say “health and wellness,” “blogger” or whatever you have listed for your Facebook Biz Page.

PRO: Perhaps my FAVE feature about an Instagram biz profile is the EXTRA analytics it provides you. You get to learn more about who your followers are, what they’re interested in, the times they are most active, and even more details about what you’re posting.

CON: You can just use other sites like the ones below to do the same. Go figure.

PRO: You can advertise and “boost” your posts similar to Facebook’s feature ads.

CON: You can just do the same through Facebook’s power editor on Google Chrome.

My advice, though, is NEVER use paid ads until you have become a lead-generating machine of awesomeness using FREE strategies FIRST. (To learn exactly how to get free leads coming to you every single day, check out Rock Your Biz on Instagram!)

These sound like ah-maze-ing new features, right?

Like why am I not switching to this RIGHT NOW?

Here’s why.

CON: I’m not a risk-taker. I don’t trust that Facebook won’t mess up my followers seeing my posts on IG like they did with Facebook biz pages.

So I’m kinda like, eh, I’m not sure I want to make this change just in case.

If it ain’t broke, why try to tinker with it?

So for me personally, I wasn’t seeing the benefit. I want my potential customers to download my freebie and get into my tribe through the links in my bio.

But for YOU, that CONTACT button COULD be a huge benefit.

If you want to direct people to call or text you immediately about your biz, that could help tons.

Just remember, the whole reason we are using Instagram is a way to get lots of FREE leads, so you have to weigh what matters more to you: your posts potentially not being seen as MUCH or having those extra contact details.

CON: As a direct seller, I’m not too sure if someone may see it as off-putting displaying yourself as a business first and foremost.

My businesses have always thrived on the personal connection I make with people.

So I like them coming to me and getting to know me a bit FIRST on a personal level, THEN establishing a biz relationship.

Just decide if you feel your content caters better to being upfront about existing as a business profile.

There are all the things you need to weigh when making this switch.

Neither is right or wrong; it all depends on YOU and your business.

IF YOU WANNA GO AHEAD AND SWITCH, HERE’S HOW:

  1. First, head to your settings, yo. You can either follow the steps from the little blue bar or if you don’t have it anymore, go to your account settings by hitting the cog in the upper right hand corner, and tap Switch to Business Profile.
  2. Connect to the Facebook Biz for your current business. (See why I always echo that your profile needs to feature ONE business, not five? Hmm.)
  3. Then enter the contact info you want your peeps to see.
  4. Well, that was easy!

I truly hope this helped you! And hey, if you switched and it sucks, you can ALWAYS switch back to a personal profile.
